The backstab has to click "on" now, meaning it has to be in "allow to be backstab" mode. You can see this in action at Hunstman Copse. When Merciless Roennae invades get behind her and try backstabbing while she's attacking. She can't be while her switch is "off" (I've literally dagger slashed her back to stunlocked lack-o-backstab death).
Bleed and poise are not exploits. Like it or not, they're intended mechanics of the game. Call me salty, but Dark Souls PVP is a lot more fun when people lay off exploiting glitches and just dual. When it becomes all about the backstab you lose 90% of the gameplay (not to mention limiting the range of viable weapons).
Also the backstab window is fucking huge, so yeah sometimes your side is you back. I've seen AFK(C?) forest bros get turned 90deg into a backstab the window is so huge. It's one of the reason people say backstabs are a bit broken. Also what he's doing to you sounds like chainstabbing, it's a combination of lag/latency, the massive window, and
The backstab is basically the same as in dks2. It has the same amount of startup frames. The only difference is the animation (a successful backstab was indicated when the fist connected at the end of the startup frames in dks2, in dks3, this is invisible), and the attack after it whiffs (no damage in dks2, r1 dmg and properties in dks3).
It's not like Dark Souls 1 where Backstab was the whole back along with the right half or the left, it actually specifically means to stand directly in the middle of the back and then strike. Also, parrying in general is hard, but if you cannot parry during the first level you're doing something wrong.
It's all about the backstab "tech". Backstabs are instant, and the hit detection is dependent on what the attacker sees on their screen. Combined with around half a second of latency on average for a normal connection, this causes backstabs to look goofy much of the time. It's not really a glitch more than simply a consequence of how it all
j3GGEs. A lot of Dark Souls 1 PvP is based around prediction. Whoever accurately predicts what his opponent is doing will be the winner. There are ways to counter every type of backstab, but it is a lot like a game of rock paper scissors. There is also latency, if your enemy starts teleporting around (literally) and sliding then yeah that is a definite
1. If the enemy is lunging towards you, you need to get behind their right (weapon) shoulder before hitting R1. Practice on silver/black knights. 2. Doing this isn't necessary to pull off a

It does look kind of weird. but I think most of the other animations in the game are better than most of what is in Dark Souls 1 and 3. It's a minor example but the prostration gesture has that much more fluid look to it in Dark Souls 2. And, of course there are the unique backstab and riposte animations. 13.
I've recently bought Dark Souls Remastered on PC and I'm enjoying the game itself so far but the camera is acting weird in certain areas. For example, when I move anywhere near the first bonfire, the camera starts spinning to the left whenever I move forward. The problem doesn't seem to occur when I'm just using keyboard and mouse but since I'd
